Class singles. American blocks or Swiss AMD.

Players will be divided into groups for events (a) &  (d) according to handicap.

It is proposed that handicap events will be played from a base of 0 AMD
(a) Advanced play. The Abbey Challenge Cup (Holder: Richard Knapp)
(b) Advanced/Level play AMD. The Scott Cup (Holder: Barry Gould)
(c) Advanced/Level play AMD. The Daldy Cup (Holder: Brian Kitching)
(d) Handicap play. The Monteith Bowl (Holder: Wendy Spencer-Smith)

2-legged competition.

Entries from pairs of any handicap or enter individually to be paired by the Manager. Each round will consist of a 14 point handicap doubles and two singles. The higher handicapped will play 14 point handicap singles, and the lower 14 point advanced singles.

The Howard Austin Cups (Holders: Valerie Whittle and Jack Davies)

Exceptions and Additions to Tournament Regulations:

1 - 11 below, plus

  1. Event 2 will be played on Thursday and Friday, and Event 1 on Saturday and Sunday.

 

B Level Golf Croquet Tournament

Sussex Open Golf Croquet Championship

If the event is oversubscribed, priority will be decided by the Golf Croquet ranking position current at the allocation date

Format :

Singles. Blocks, followed by knockout and play-offs for places.

The Hamilton Trophy ( Holder: H. Cheyne)

Played to CA Rules, with Dawson International balls.

Games start 9.30 am each day.

 

Sussex Open Doubles Alternate Stokes Tournament

Format :

Handicap doubles with strictly alternate strokes during a turn and whoever played the last shot of a turn, partner plays the first stroke of the next.

Entries from pairs of any handicap (maximum individual handicap 18) or enter individually to be paired by the Manager.

Format AMD.

Exceptions and Additions to Tournament Regulations:

  1. Provisional entry may be made on-line  or by email to opentournaments@sussexcountycroquetclub.org.uk. Please make payment in the normal way after receiving confirmation of your entry.

  2. Entry can also be made using the normal CA entry form (Please enclose payment).

  3. Please make cheques payable to Sussex County Croquet Club and send to the Tournament Secretary.

  4. Progress of all entries can be checked on the SCCC website.

  5. Withdrawals and refunds. For withdrawals before the closing date the entry fee will be refunded, less an administrative charge of £5. No refunds will be made for withdrawals after the closing date.

  6. All entries where an email address has been provided will be acknowledged by email.

  8. Play will start at 9.30 am on each day.

  9. Dawson International balls will be used.

  10. Plastic markers must be used in double-banked games. Players who use coins may be disqualified.

  11. Leave will only be granted in emergencies.

  12. Coffee, light lunches and teas will be available. Full licensed bar. Please book lunches on entry if possible.

  13. At all tournaments, including associated evening activities, dogs must remain in the car park.
