You are here :   Welcome » How to enter a winter tournament
rss This article is available in the standard RSS format for publication on your website :

You can enter any tournament in our winter programme in two ways:

  1. Complete an on-line entry form here.  You will be contacted by the Tournament Administrator once your entry has been processed, which will be within a few days in normal circumstances.
  2. Contact the Tournament Administrator by phone of email.

You do not need to be a member of Sussex Croquet Club or of the Croquet Association in order to play in these winter tournaments; they are open to all.

Please give an email address if at all possible as this is the easiest way for us to keep in contact with you.

Payment
Payment will be collected on the day of the tournament, not in advance.  All places will be confirmed on entry.

Entry for doubles competitions
Because doubles competitions need to be arranged with an entry in multiples of 4 players, it is highly advisable to enter early to be assured of a place.  Nearer the closing date, the 17th, 21st or 25th player will be told they are on reserve pending 3 additional entries.

You do not need to enter with a partner in doubles events - one can be found for you.
If you want to enter with a partner, please make sure that player also makes an official entry, or do it for them.  Giving your partner's name  is insufficient; you must make it clear that you are entering for both parties, or complete two on-line forms, one for each player.

If you want to check the status of your entry, click here.  It will show:

  • entry sent (on-line entry only) - you have requested a place but the Tournament Secretary has not yet acted on your request.
  • provisional - your entry have been received and a place allocated.
  • confirmed - your payment has been received.
  • reserve - the list is currently full but you have been added to the reserve list.
  • withdrawn - you have cancelled your request for a place.

Withdrawing from a tournament
If you find you have to withdraw, please let us know so that we can offer your place to another.
