Everything you need to enter the Club Competitions

The new season approaches and you can now enter for this season's club competitions.

The main and very much preferred method is to enter on-line; please do so if at all possible.

Paying for entries

Once the deadline for entries has passed you will receive an email (if you have given an email address) setting out how much to pay and the bank details required. There is no need to pay before then.


Additional local competitions in April

Regretably the Covid restrictions which will apply in April prevent us from effectively running any open competitions. However, to compesate there are three new competitions open to club members and local players in the SECF,

Saturday 17th April AC 14pt singles, separate handicap and advanced groups. All handicaps. 5 games of 1hr15m each


Richard and Jean Brooks kindly prepared and hosted a Zoom Quiz last night. Very enjoyable - and pretty tricky too!

16 teams took part in the quiz, 12 with partners and 4 singles.


The first four places were as follows:-

1st place went to Martyn Cooperman (who was playing alone) with 51 points.

Equal 2nd place went to  Richard & Rachel Pointon and Rosemary & Peter Wyld with 49 points.

Clive & Karen Hayton were in 4th place with 47 points

Maximum points available was 78.

Congratulations to the top scorers and many thanks to Richard and Jean for their hard work preparing the quiz.


This season's competitions - 04/02/2021 10:01

The CA has postponed opening the online tournament entry system until at least the end of February.

This means no CA advertised competitions can yet be entered.

The Croquet Academy at Southwick has launched its programme of 19 courses aimed at

AC and GC players, from complete beginners to advanced.

New programme for 2021

New for 2021, we offer:

  • Cliff’s zoom webinars on the new AC Laws update, with a return visit later in the season for his very popular two day course for AC Improvers, which is accompanied by his excellent course manuals.
  • A GC Workshop’ including a Swing Trainer and Video Analysis to learn where to improve.
  • ‘It’s not about the mallet’ with former World Champion Stephen Mulliner, whether GC or AC, learn how to get that winning mentality.
  • Tim King will run a ‘GC Master Class’ for aspiring A and B-Level tournament players.
  • Short Croquet – AC for beginners – it’s one of the easiest way to learn the game.
  • An opportunity to attend a course by Stephen Custance-Baker, author of ‘Every Shot Is Tactical’.

Everything from complete beginners to advanced in both GC and AC.
